Favorite board game

My all time favorite board game is checkers. Checkers is also known as draughts. The objective of the game

is to remove or "kill" all of your opponent's pieces from the board. You start the game by setting up the

board. This is done by placing your twelve pieces on every other square facing you, and your opponent

placing his twelve pieces on every other square facing him. Next take turns moving one space diagonally. At

this point you can only move forward, while thinking of different strategies to use while you progress. One of

your advantage is to "jump" or "kill" when an opponent piece is one space from yours.Once this is done that

piece is removed from the board. The goal is to get to your opponent side of the board. When this happens

you are now "king." It is now easier to "kill" or jump over the opponent pieces when you are" king" The

game is over and you have won when all your opponent pieces are removed from the board.

Mid Term Portfolio

On January 20th my first day attending Eng.043, i was positive motivated and ready to learn. The first thing my

professor wanted me to do was to create a blog.I felt lost.I had no idea what she was talking about.I was also

ask to write an essay and was given five topic to choose from.I chose the topic base on the fairness of not

hiring people who smoke. My first blog posting was me introducing myself.I started liking the idea of blogging.I

liked that it is done in the form of a journal. The following week i had to choose a quote from the text book

Evergreen. I chose a quote by Jessie Jackson"children need your presence more than your presents"My third

blog was to write about my ideal job.Blogging is getting easier.I wrote about my dream to becoming a

registered nurse. The following week i had to blog on the the topic "What makes holidays more important or

more special than other days." The professor used a diagram of a house to show me what a paragraph should

look like. This consist of three parts. The topic sentence, the body and the conclusion. The next blog was to

write  what i see when i open my front door.At first i thought there is nothing to write about, because my house

is surrounded by trees.Surprisingly i discovered there is a lot to see when you observe order. Its now the third

week of February. A lot has been covered on writing paragraphs. When i look at the older posting it is obvious

my writing skill has improved.I had to compose an essay on the different categories of restaurant.I wrote on

cultural diversity.March second we watch the movie Labyrinth...interesting.If i had to write an essay on the

movie it would be done in the process form.I saw where the leading character went from being selfish, to

 someone who was more considerate.

THE VIEW FROM MY FRONT DOOR

when my prof.ask me to write on this ,i thought to myself there is not much to write. You see i live in the deep woods of Fairfield Ct.I open my front door and there are trees everywhere. Its winter, there are no leaves on the trees, therefore im able to see this one house in the near distance.Sometimes i wonder who lives there. It is not unusual for me to see reindeers roaming in the bushes.Today is my lucky day. There are seven deers parading in front of my house,a beautiful sight to behold. In my little garden to the right of my patio a couple of birds are enjoying what is left of it.The roads where i live are narrow,we are careful to make room for each other.
